Bienvenidos!    Welcome!

Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ, Inc is a 501(c)(3) organization celebrating the colorful tradition of Mexican folkloric dance. Led by an experienced dancer, Vanessa Ramirez, the group began as a recreational class.  As one of very few East Valley folklorico groups currently operating, interest in the dance troupe has grown rapidly  from just 6 students in June of 2005 to more than 60 currently.  Our students range in age from 3 years old - adult  and enjoy an exciting and fun way to express themselves through dance and learn about Hispanic heritage. In June of 2012, Ballet Folklorico Quetzalli-AZ opened its doors to their very own dance studio. Stop by and enjoy the beautiful mural created by the students with the help of muralist Lonnie Anderson.  The studio is located on the NWC of Dobson and Elliot. Help us keep our traditions alive by donating to our organization, all donations are tax deductible.

I am SO THANKFUL for having all of you in my life and for having the honor of working with your children. They are all so amazing,  full of energy and they truly are a blessing in my life.

Live, Love, Dance!

Students learn dances from various regions of Mexico.  Not only do they have fun and get good exercise, but they receive a small history lesson with each dance.  Each week students are assigned a homework assignment related to the region of Mexico where the dance they are learning originates.  Each child shares in class what they have learned in a presentation.  This encourages self-esteem through cultivating public speaking skills as well as the showmanship of performance.  It is wonderful to observe the growth and confidence that these young children develop in a short time. Our director believes in a holistic approach to dance that centers on developing the individual capacities of each dancer, emphasizing:

  • Discipline
  • Responsibility
  • Teamwork
  • Community Service
  • All while having fun!

A firm but patient approach to teaching builds for the girls and their parents a second family where they can live, love, and dance!

A very special congratulations to our Director and Dance Instructor,
Ms. Vanessa Ramirez on being one of the recipients of the
